GEA OptiAir
Dust-free operation for the OptiFlour coating machine
The GEA OptiAir dust extraction system is built by Dutch manufacturer GEA Food Solutions, designed as a complementary unit to the GEA OptiFlour flour coating machine. The OPF-OPA type unit extracts excess flour from the coating chamber by creating under-pressure within the machine, allowing the coating process to run with significantly reduced dust in the production hall.
Technical specifications of the GEA OptiAir system:
Manufacturer: GEA Food Solutions Bakel B.V. (Netherlands)
Model: OptiAir (OPF-OPA)
Year of manufacture: 2016
Power supply: 380–480 V, 3-phase, 50–60 Hz
Power: 4 kW
Current consumption: 8.5 A
Dimensions (L x W x H): approx. 1360 x 1000 x 1820 mm
How does the GEA OptiAir dust extraction system work?
OptiAir works directly alongside the OptiFlour coating machine, extracting airborne flour and its excess straight from inside the coating unit. Creating under-pressure within the coating chamber keeps fine flour particles from escaping into the surrounding area, considerably improving operator comfort and hygiene while reducing flour dust settling on surfaces throughout the production hall.
The system is designed as an integral part of the OptiFlour setup – combining both units delivers a dust-free coating technology, while keeping full control over the amount and distribution of flour applied to the product.
Key advantages of the GEA OptiAir system
Using the OptiAir system results in a noticeably cleaner and safer working environment – reduced flour dust lowers the risks associated with air quality in the production hall and makes it easier to keep the area around the coating line clean and hygienic. Less airborne dust also means less frequent cleaning around the machine and lower losses of coating material.
The compact construction and industrial-standard power supply make the OptiAir system easy to integrate into an existing GEA OptiFlour coating line without major changes to the production layout.
The GEA OptiAir dust extraction system is used as part of a coating line alongside the GEA OptiFlour flour coating machine, wherever reducing flour dust in the production process and improving working conditions on the coating line matters. The system works well in meat, poultry, and fish processing plants running breaded product lines.
