How does the ULMA VTI 640 + GS Italia FILLER TVR40 line work?
The line operates in two connected stages. In the first stage, the GS Italia FILLER 1100 cc X2 TVR40 doser, driven pneumatically (6 bar), draws in the product and, using its two piston heads (X2), dispenses a set portion — up to 1100 cc per head — with repeatable accuracy even for thick products or those containing pieces. In the second stage, the dosed product is fed into the ULMA VTI 640 vertical wrapper, which forms a bag from a laminated film reel around a 300 mm forming tube, fills it with the dosed portion, and then seals it lengthwise and crosswise using teethed jaws with air-cooled sealing, creating a sealed pillow-style pack. The modified atmosphere (MAP) option in the forming tube can further extend the shelf life of the packed product.
This configuration — a doser feeding the product directly into a vertical wrapper — eliminates the need for manual filling and allows both machines to be synchronized into a single, continuous production process.

The wrapper is controlled via a 10-inch industrial PC touchscreen, and tool-less format changeover is possible. A quick film-reel-change system, a photoelectric cell for printed film, and an integrated Videoject 6330-53 coder with Clarisoft software further streamline the line and reduce downtime between production batches. Built in 2024, the doser is a virtually new component of the line with minimal operational wear.
